HandyTax, LLC is a CPA firm based in Forestville, Maryland, serving clients
across the United States. For almost two
decades, we've helped individuals, small businesses, and startups keep more of
what they earn: not by cutting corners, but by planning ahead and knowing the
code in depth.

The firm is led by its founder and CEO, Christopher Handy, CPA, MBA. We're a
Black-owned, veteran-owned practice — discipline, precision, and straight
answers are how we work.

• Tax preparation — individual returns and every business return type:
   Schedule C, partnership (1065), C-corporation (1120), and S-corporation
   (1120-S), across all 50 states.
• Tax planning & advice — our emphasis. Filing reports the past; planning
   changes the future. We work with clients year-round on the decisions that
   legally reduce next year's tax, not just record last year's.
• Business formation — forming LLCs and other entities the right way from
   day one, including California and Texas LLCs and the state obligations that
   follow them.
• R&D credit claims — many growing companies, especially software and app
   builders, are doing work that may qualify for federal and state research
   credits without realising it. We prepare the credit claim; for qualifying
   startups, the credit can offset payroll tax by up to $500,000 a year.
• Cost segregation studies — for rental property owners, we perform
   engineering-based studies that reclassify building components into shorter
   depreciation lives. With 100% bonus depreciation restored for property
   acquired and placed in service after January 19, 2025, that can move years
   of deductions into year one — improving cash flow now instead of over
   27.5 years.
